El Dorado County sheriff’s officials on Monday renewed their request for the public’s help in identifying and locating a man who reportedly fired a handgun at a deputy in the Camino area last week.
About 8 a.m. Friday, a deputy made informal contact with a man in the rural area of Cable and White Mountain roads, sheriff’s officials said. When a struggle ensued, the man allegedly retrieved a handgun and fired at the deputy. The deputy was not injured.
The man was described as white, 6-foot-1-inch to 6-foot-2-inches tall, weighing approximately 200 to 250 pounds, with a shaved head and a goatee. He was wearing a flannel shirt, blue jeans and boots.
The man was last seen driving away on Cable Road in a white, single cab Dodge pickup with no license plates.
