The “world’s largest street pub” returns to Sacramento next month.

Deschutes Brewery is bringing its 400-foot-long party to the Handle District on Oct. 14, with proceeds again benefiting Elk Grove’s Runnin’ for Rhett nonprofit organization. It’s the third time the pub has visited Sacramento and organizers hope to add to the $180,000 raised over the last two years.

The event will run from 2 to 10 p.m. starting at 18th Street and Captiol Avenue. It will feature about 60 taps serving brews from Deschutes, Big Stump Brewing Company and Crispin Cider.

Last year, about 21,000 people drank 209 kegs of beer and raised $80,000 for Runnin’ for Rhett.

Oregon-based Deschutes tours the Street Pub around the country. Before heading to Sacramento, the brewery will hit Roanoke, Va.; Portland, Ore.; Cincinnati and Milwaukee.

Local bands including Jelly Bread and IDEATEAM will provide music and a kids’ zone will be set up. Other activities will be offered by Deschutes’ street pub partners Hydro Flask, Humm Kombucha and KEEN Footwear. Chefs from Deschutes, deVere’s Irish Pub and other local establishments will put on “cooking with beer” demonstrations throughout the day.

The event’s beneficiary, Runnin’ for Rhett, is a foundation focused on youth fitness.
